Why Hyaluronic acid treatments are more than just millilitres

05.03.2025.

It’s common for patients to focus on how many millilitres of filler will be injected. More products might seem like it equals better results—but that’s not how aesthetic medicine works. The true art of fillers isn’t just about quantity, but about choosing the right product and technique for each patient’s unique anatomy.

Not all Hyaluronic acids are the same

Hyaluronic acid fillers vary in texture, density, and behaviour once injected. Some are firmer and designed to provide structure and lift in deeper areas, while others are softer and meant for more superficial refinement.

But here’s the key: what seems like a “light” filler in general might not be light at all when applied to you. The same product can behave differently depending on where it’s placed, how your tissue responds, and your unique facial structure.

Aesthetic medicine is about customization

Every patient is different—what works for one person may not work for another. This is why aesthetic medicine is never a standardized process, but a personalized one.

A skilled doctor tailors the approach in real-time, adapting the choice of filler, placement, and injection technique based on how your skin reacts. What starts as a plan on paper often evolves during the procedure to ensure the safest, most natural-looking, and best possible outcome.

This is why I always tell my patients:

“We have to see how this filler behaves in your tissues, how much they hold of it, and at the end of the procedure, we will see how much we injected, always following guidelines and best practices.”

More than just numbers

In aesthetic treatments, numbers alone don’t define beauty. The key lies in the harmony between the product, the technique, and the patient’s individual features.

A well-placed, properly chosen filler enhances natural beauty rather than simply adding volume.

Instead of focusing on millilitres, it’s important to consider the bigger picture: a subtle, personalized approach leads to the most refined and long-lasting results.

Every procedure follows strict guidelines and the highest safety protocols, ensuring that patients receive not only the best aesthetic outcome but also the safest treatment possible.
