The Polish government has approved a new investment program aimed at expanding oncology services at the Fryderyk Chopin University Clinical Hospital in Rzeszów.
The project, titled “Expansion of the Fryderyk Chopin University Clinical Hospital in Rzeszów in the Field of Oncology,” is scheduled to run from 2026 to 2029 and will be financed through the country’s Medical Fund.
Total government support for the investment amounts to nearly 300 million zlotys ($75 million).
The program is intended to increase access to oncology diagnosis and treatment in the Podkarpackie region through the construction and outfitting of a new Oncology Clinic in Świlcza, near Rzeszów.
Authorities said the investment is designed to address rising demographic and epidemiological demand while supporting the objectives of Poland’s National Oncology Strategy and National Oncology Network.
Plans for the project include the construction of a six-story facility, with five above-ground floors and one underground level.
The building is expected to function as a standalone diagnostic and treatment center providing oncology services in a single location.
The expansion is also expected to support the University of Rzeszów’s medical education and research activities, including clinical trials and residency training in oncology-related fields.
The investment program has entered the implementation phase, with design and construction work expected to continue in the coming months ahead of the planned opening of the new Oncology Clinic.
